In the latest report published by Oxfam, it has revealed shocking facts about the wealthy people.

The said report goes on to reveal that there are just 08 people, all of them are men, who own as much wealth as the half world. How sad and strange!.

In other words, these eight rich people of the whole world are earning as much as total 3.6 billion are making together. How strange and shocking it is.

The names of these rich people are quite well known to us.

The first name on the list is of Bill Gates, who is ranked at first as the report showed he has made $75 billions. He’s followed by Amancio Ortega, the owner of Zara fashion chain, and of Inditex. His net worth is $67 billion.

The third name is of Warren Buffett. He is the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway  He stands at $60.8 billions. He is followed by Carlos Slim Helu: He is from Mexico, his net worth is $50 billion.

The list goes on to enlist Jeff Bezos, he is the Chief executive of Amazon. His net worth is $45.2 billion. And he is followed by Mark Zuckerberg, the co-founder of Facebook. His net worth is $44.6 billion.

Seventh richest person of the world is Larry Ellison, the CEO and co-founder of Oracle. His net worth is $43.6 billion. And the last one in the list of richest person of the world is Michael Bloomberg. He is CEO of Bloomberg LP. His net worth is $40 billion.

Here’s the excerpt from the report.

Winnie Byanyima, Executive Director of Oxfam International, said:

[bctt tweet=”Shocking: Just 8 men own same wealth as half the world” username=”iamwaqar”] Inequality is trapping hundreds of millions in poverty; it is fracturing our societies and undermining democracy.

“Across the world, people are being left behind. Their wages are stagnating yet corporate bosses take home million dollar bonuses; their health and education services are cut while corporations and the super-rich dodge their taxes; their voices are ignored as governments sing to the tune of big business and a wealthy elite.”

I am not against these rich people. Actually, I am their fan. especially of Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg. I believe they want to do something good for the people. Bill Gates Polio eradication campaign has made it possible to get rid of Polio in developing countries like Pakistan. On the other hand, Mark Zuckerberg is also trying to bring more connectivity around the world.

But this does not make this situation ignorable. The governments around the world will have to think to decrease this gap of earnings between poor and rich. It is the duty of every country’s government to make sure that the rich and influential people don’t evade taxation so that the money earned from the tax can be utilized for uplifting the lives of poor around the world.

This is possible. The only need is to get determined and come up with fool-proof procedures and stern actions. Otherwise, this income disparity and the class difference will only increase. It will make poor people poorer, and rich, richer.
